Dennis Dougherty

    In 1998, I graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Labor and Industrial Relations. After Penn State, I worked full time and began a family.

I have seen life from the working person’s perspective and am blessed to have found my calling as an attorney. Advocating in court, advising clients and skilled negotiations are my passion.

I attended and graduated from Widener University School of Law with my Juris Doctorate. I have been a criminal defense attorney for several years and have years of trial experience ranging from homicides to DUI and summary traffic offenses.

I believe to be the best advocate for your client you must be willing to go to trial on any case. Trial is not always the best option, but it must always be an option to achieve the best results.

I am a member of Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Lancaster Bar Association. In my spare time I enjoy the outdoors, hunting, fishing and sports. I coach several of my children’s sports.

Barrie Wellener

I have been a passionate defender of the people in the criminal justice realm since 1995. After 20 years as an attorney with the Public Defender in Lancaster, I decided to join forces with my friend Dennis Dougherty in our continued commitment to help those accused of crimes and other offenses.

I earned my Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1995 and my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992. I have served on the Lancaster Bar Association Board of Directors as a Member at Large and on the Lancaster Bar Association Judiciary Committee. I also volunteer for Leadership Lancaster Law and Justice Day and have done so for a number of years.

My devotion to criminal defense is a devotion to the client, the case, and the constitution.

I have lived in Pennsylvania my entire life: Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, and Lancaster have been my home. My husband is a central Pennsylvania native. Settling in Lancaster in 1996, I have devoted my legal career to criminal defense. In my free time I enjoy watching classic movies, listening to all kinds of music, and playing with our dog, Woody.
